Kat is the lead author on a new paper published in Journal of Sedimentary Research. This research adapted an Aeolian Surface Model for use in coastal dune environments. We simulate three dune morphotypes, inspired by the Late Pleistocene-aged aeolianites in The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. The ASM proves useful for testing hypotheses, exploring environmental boundary conditions, and guiding future refinements for paleo-reconstructions of aeolian landscape evolution.
