Kat is a co-author of a new publication in JGR: Earth Surface. This study documents outwash (ebb-dominated surge) across a Texas barrier island during Hurricane Harvey (2017). We combine detailed field observations, measurements of outwash channel morphology and scaling relationships, and hydrodynamic modeling of flow velocities and accelerations through pre-existing topography.
